Robert Turner has been named as managing director of travel technology and bookings solutions provider HotelsPro.

He steps up to head the company after joining last year, managing operations in Europe including sales, customer support and contracting.

Turner’s previous roles include time at Travco and UK-based OnHotels.com.

Metin Altun, chief executive of Istanbul-based HotelsPro’s parent company Met Global, said: “We believe that the job of the HotelsPro managing director now requires additional attributes to successfully execute on the company’s strategy after our significant growth in recent years.

“Robert Turner has the right operational, managerial and communication skills and leadership abilities to deliver improved execution and growth performance to HotelsPro.”

Turner said: “As traditional industry practice gives way to dynamic and agile new approaches, there is a pressing need for a globally relevant B2B accommodation solution that embraces this challenge.

“HotelsPro, with it’s relentless commitment to develop industry leading technical solutions and then combine that with exceptional localised service and knowledge, is an incredible environment to be involved in.

“As we continue our expansion, with four new strategically located offices opening in the coming weeks, I’m excited to help build our partnerships, accelerate our global presence and continue to improve our business practices.”
