OTA Insight says booking last minute for Easter is the best way to “bag a steal”
The hotel revenue management solutions provider says “patience” is required when booking last minute but that there are plenty of deals available to savvy bookers including breaks from London to New York.
Their data – from 197 hotels in London and 165 hotels in New York based on 3, 4 and 5 star hotels – shows that prices have been dropping the closer we get towards the Easter break.
It shows that booking today (Thursday, April 13), the average lowest price for a hotel stay in London on Easter Sunday is less than £150. In comparison, 100 days before Easter Sunday, hotel rooms averaged £160, and peaked 10-14 days later at more than £165.
In New York, best pricing peaked 100 days out from Easter Sunday at just over $260 and has since consistently decreased with the best price currently averaging at just over $190. The Saturday night peaked at over $350 but is now closer to $300. Although it is to be noted that Monday ios not a bank holiday in the US.
Adriaan Coppens, chief executive and founder, OTA Insight, said: “It’s great news for holidaymakers, especially Europeans looking to travel further afield and take advantage of the Easter bank holidays and last minute low prices.”
