Malta-based central reservation system Busy Rooms is taking over German company Hotelwebservice.

The deal, for an undisclosed sum, provides the company with “significant exposure” in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and allows for expansion of its range of offerings.

Busy Rooms plans to establish presence in the region with an office in Essen to be maintained and developed.

The Hotelwebservice brand, established almost 20 years ago, will be maintained.

A future brand strategy is being carefully explored and developed over time, according to Busy Rooms.

Busy Rooms now operates out of four offices – Malta, Germany, Mexico and India – and has customers in more than 60 countries.

Founder and chief executive Sascha Hausmann said: “We are excited about the acquisition and the opportunity it provides.

“Not only do we acquire additional product but more importantly an experienced team which will allow us to execute on our global expansion strategy while providing better solutions to the hospitality industry.”

Hotelwebservice founder and CEO Thomas Lendzion, who will join the Busy Rooms executive team, said: “With Busy Rooms we join a strong, innovative team that jointly enables us to provide our current and future customers cutting edge solutions.

“This deal accelerates us and our clients to the next level.”
